Christmas Expectation

I’m laying down my expectations

for revelations

and relationship.

I trust You for salvation

and I’ll trust you for this season.

You are the reason

for all the holly jolly

but I don’t want to fall into the folly

of forgetting how you came,

forgetting you forsook fame

and came for me.

So tender and mild,

You came in sweet mercy,

as a Child

to become His people’s King.

Hear the angels sing,

oh how they rejoice,

and see the gifts the wisemen bring,

oh how they rejoice!

Rejoice, rejoice!

For our Savior has come

And Heaven was undone

As the angels pour out.

This is the One,

they sing and shout

for in a manger He lay;

praise Him today

and bring all your gifts

before the newborn Babe.

Fight

I will fight

with the Sword,

turning darkness to light

with the living Word

as it is poured out;

I will shout

like Caleb and Joshua

of the Lord’s plentiful land;

His goodness washes over us,

by the grace of His hand.

Into the land we will go,

until the milk and honey flow

as we walk in His way

and seek after mercy;

victory is coming today

to set us free,

but tonight,

we fight;

friend, contend

for righteousness sake.

He will not give more than we can take

if we take on His armor.

If we carry the cross of the Lord

goodness and mercy will follow after us;

forsake disbelief, pursue godliness, and kill lust.

Fight the good fight

and uproot the evil seeds;

be the good light

the world needs.

Building Brothers

Come brother’s and sisters
to rebuild our walls;
yes, there is sin so hot it blisters,
that makes our courage fall,
But God.
He has called us to fellowship
so do not stifle the friendship
with fear;
it has no place here!
Church, you are not alone
because in the body of Christ we are one.
We have home,
because we have the Son.
Look to the eastern sky
and see the sunrise in your brothers eye;
bring praise together as the darkness ends
and labor alongside your friends.
Bear each other’s burdens
and let the chains be broken
as we raise each other up;
let hope and joy and peace be awoken
as we work with our hands
as if to the Lord.
Brothers and sisters let’s seek His plans
and meditate on His Living Word
so that all our work is acceptable and pure
no matter where we trod,
so even if we are unsure,
we are always the Children of God.

Alabaster Heart

Alabaster stone,
Make it Your home,
holy, broken, set apart;
make it my heart,
pure and holy for You.
Cleanse it and empty me
until all I have is praise
poured out like costly oil,
like your blood on this soil,
thank you for Your Grace come down.
Oil wash over,
like a crown
let it drip down Your lips that speak peace,
Your eyes that see the best in me.
Make my heart broken
at the feet of my crucified, risen King;
on my knees every hope is awoken
and every man of every tongue sings.
Majesty! Hallelujah!
Be the incense of joy,
the essence of hope,
and the intent of my worship.
Beautiful Savior,
I offer my life as my gift;
use it as you wish,
to bring you pleasure
as I am emptied
and you are lifted high;
Lord be glorified.

Water Of Life

Living Water from the courts above
flow down
and wash over us in love;
let Your glory ring around
as the saints join in the sound,
the song of freedom.
Freedom!
Oh Holy Water
pour out on Your children
and give us life worth living;
give us hands and hearts for giving.
Sweep over all this land
and free up the greedy hand;
bring to equal
kings and debtors.
Make mighty men to fall
and loose our fetters;
Spirit of God come down like rain
on a parched ground,
mighty to rule and reign,
Lord reclaim your crown.
Loose the floodgates
and flood over our lives
bringing vision to our eyes,
and purpose to our path.
Trod down the grapes of wrath
and make the darkness flee
as the Water of Life
washes over me.

Prayer

I came across this quote this morning from C.S. Lewis

“Do our prayers sometimes go wrong because we insist on trying to talk to God when He wants to talk to us?”
